What to Expect from a Slate Re-Roof

A full strip and re-slate on a typical 3-bed Victorian terrace takes 4–6 working days. We strip all slates, sort and stack reusable ones, inspect every timber member, replace any rotten timber, install new breathable membrane, re-batten at correct gauge, and re-fix slates with copper nails. Damaged slates are replaced with matching reclaimed or new slate. New lead valleys and flashings are installed. The finished roof should last another 100+ years with periodic maintenance.
